HOW WE BEGAN

This little guy was named Gizmo. He was our introduction to living with a chihuahua. He was a tiny little guy who loved to snuggle under the blankets and to be held. He was a very playful and active baby, but he needed a playmate. So we began our search to expand our chihuahua pack.

Ebony & Kahlua

It took us a little while to find the perfect companion for Gizmo. And then we found her ... a cinnamon colored bundle of fur that just melted into my arms. But ... she had this sister who was a tiny silky black sweetheart who cried when her sister was picked up without her. I couldn't make a choice ... so we took them both. Enter into our pack: Kahlua and Ebony.

Then heart-break came to our home. We lost little Gizmo to unknown causes. It was a dark day when our first little one left us. The girls knew something was wrong and they too felt the loss.

We knew we would eventually look for another little boy for my husband. He missed having his little buddy. That's when I heard of a 2 year-old male needing a new home quickly. I wasn't sure how he would fit with the girls so we agreed to foster him for a week. He came to us scared and timid, but soon attached himself to my husband.

It was very clear that we had found our newest pack member, and we named him Ozzie.

As things generally go, as soon as we decided to keep Ozzie with our pack, just a couple months later we heard that a full brother of our girls, Kahlua and Ebony (from a different litter) was needing a forever home. One look at this baby and I knew he was coming to live with us as well. And with Baxter, there was 4.

It was the following year that we began researching breeding. And we decided that Ozzie would be our stud and the sisters, Kahlua and Ebony would be our brood bitches. They had litters exactly 3 months apart and we kept one from Ebony's litter and two from Kahlua's litter. This rounds out our pack ... and fills our home with tons of love.
